Who Pays for Home Health?
- Medicare- Services are covered at 100% if all criteria is met, with the exclusion of infusion or prescription drugs.
- Private Insurance- Services are covered as directed by the policy. (Lifeline Home Health is contracted with most major medical health plans, which means your plan is probably one of them).
- Medicaid- Skilled visits are covered. Therapy Services and Home Health Aides are usually not covered.
- Private Pay- (No Insurance) Ask to speak with a Social Worker.
- Workers Compensation- Services are covered as directed by the workers compensation policy.
What types of healthcare can be provided in the home?
- Many medical conditions that once required hospitalization can now safely be treated in home. Basic Services offered by LifeLine Home Health are:
- Skilled nursing care, through nursing visits and home health aide visits.
- Infusion therapy/pharmacy services, including antibiotic therapy, hydration therapy, nutrition therapy such as TPN and tube feedings, chemotherapy, and pain management.
- Home oxygen equipment
- Rehabilitation therapies, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
- Medical social workers
What if I have a problem at night or on the weekend?
- LifeLine Home Health has Registered Nurses on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for urgent needs.
Do I need a physician’s order for home healthcare?
- Yes. All healthcare provided in home is under the direct order and supervision of the client’s primary care physician.
How can I be sure my elderly family member is in good caring hands?
- Lifeline Home Health agency carefully screens all applicants with criminal background checks, examines prior nursing experiences, and references before hiring. Additionally, all staff undergo a pre-employment health screening as well as annual health assessments to ensure good physical health.
